L'kor nodded uneasily at the Romulan and turned back to the Major. "What will be our role in the coming battle sir?"

Jade was working over at the science getting in reports from the science labs. They had been given hull fragments of the Cai'nari said to be of Covenant technology and as such had spent the last day analyzing them for any weakness or advantages they could get. She looked up hearing the Chief's comments and called over. "Chief" she called and watched him approach "and wanted to apologize if I aggravated you in there. I was simply expressing my opinion as the Captains asked of us.

Makoto returned to her office, but no sooner than she walked in the door than one of her team members walked through the back door. "Ma'am, while you were out, the internal sensors for the brig were disabled for a short period of time, then turned back on." "ID on the person who did it?" "Unable to confirm from the logs, ma'am." "Well, it'd have to be done by a senior officer, and someone who knew one of those two. Run a search, once you pinpoint a likely suspect begin passive monitoring and send me everything you have on them. Said suspect will not be a target...yet." "Yes ma'am."
Makoto leaned back in her chair, and frowned slightly as she read a padd regarding the Covenant, something didn't feel right to her, but there wasn't enough information...yet.

Jo'rek nodded as he stood in front of the railing surrounding the command section and in front of her station. "I understand. But defensive is one thing Lieutenant, but when we are attacked and our people killed. That is the time to go on the offensive and these people have given us chance to do so."

"I know" she sighed and leant in her hands, elbows on her thighs "I have been working to that end. It's just....war. It's not what I signed up for and I have seen enough death in these past few months than I care to ever see again."

"All we can do mam is be thankful that we are not among them and hope for the best. For now this is our best chance of ever seeing home or peace again. We need to remember where we were a week ago" with that he returned to his duties.

He returned to his station after the meeting. His annoyance quite visible. It was obvious he did not like to know the sub-systems were still not functioning properly. His diagnostics was inconclusive as he ran every scenario in his head. At first he just thought it was a problem with the system itself not registering some of the replacement scanners. He then thought some of the senors themselves may have caused a minor overload disrupting the computer for a mere second but, from his scans and reports from his staff and even from engineering there was no visible problem with the system or the senors. In fact it seems there are no logs of the senors even being turned off to be begin with. He noticed the Master Chief approached close to his station just as he finished his third review of the reports. "Chief, it seems I can't isolate the sensor malfunction from earlier."
Stating the exact time of the glitch out-loud, he proceeded to inform the chief of what he knew. Again no records were found of the incident at the time of it's occurrence and it seemed no one but him noticed. if it wasn't for his short attention span he might have not been looking at his datapad at the time it occurred. Of course he left the part of him not paying attention to the meeting out of his short explanation. "If you do not mind sir, I would like to head back down to the Computer Core, maybe there is something stored on ship's memory about this small incident." He asked as he looked up to the Chief.
It's funny really out of all the crew members on board he had a innate respect for the Chief. Andrew knew he outranked him but something in him tells him to treat Chief Lhaerrh Jo'rek differently.

"It really depends on the situation Mr. L'Kor. Should we be boarded, you will be assigned part of the ship-critical areas to defend along with the rest of us. Should we go on a mission to an enemy ship, you will definitely be in on that action." He said, pacing for a moment in the office before turning back to them. "I am not really sure of what training you have received, or tactics you know. But one must remember that you have to be flexible. Don't just rigidly stick to a plan. Situations change...to put it simply in a human expression, its called 'thinking outside the box.'" He paused for a moment, watching their reactions.
"However, you'll learn when to stick to the plan, and when to improvise. I feel more comfortable knowing that the three of us can work together towards a common goal." he added, sitting on the desk for a moment.

"As long as you remember who's in command and follow orders accordingly, then I don't have a problem with your presence on the battlefield. If you can't do it, I'll have you remanded to the brig." He said matter-of-factly.

"To be honest I don't know. Without more information about this glitch I won't know what to fix." He spoke honestly as he just lacked information. He was unaware of the culprit of the glitch was in their presence not enjoying the nosy Operations Chief.
