She walked out of the turbolift with the Ensign and headed towards the Science lab in question. "Well, hope you're able to fix the problem, at least." she said, walking close to him and the light shade of red remaining on her face a bit before going down.

The walk was short, shorter than he wanted. He wanted to be alone with her, just to be in her company. This feeling was strange to him. His face still red from before. They walked close together, the Ensigns old heart began to work harder and faster than before.
Then the transmission from before emanated again in his thoughts. The explosion was not a good thing to hear. He was no real expert in every science imaginable but he knew a few things that were to help. He just didn't know what.
"I hope so too." Almost to himself but quickly shook his mind.
"I think I can handle it, but to be honest I never imagine doing half the things I do on this ship. Seems surreal at times." A pause, his mind still wandered a bit.

As they came up on the lab door, she stopped for a moment, and at his inquisitive look she took his hand in hers, holding it for a moment before nodding, "And I suppose you never imagined getting mixed up on the quarters deck." she said with a grin. "You have a good mind, and a good pair of hands, good luck in there." she said, "See you another time." she finished, slowly letting go of his hand before she turned and walked away to the turbolift, her way of walking serving to keep one's attention until she was out of sight.

Time began to slow as her hands began to slip away, the Ensigns hands still tried to grasp what was no longer there. His breath was held and eyes did not avert. He could not look away from the Lieutenant. The words "See ya." barely escaped his lips. It was hypnotic in a way and even as she left his sight behind a turn he kept on looking. In the distance the sounds of the Turbolift opening and closing could be heard.
His breath returned but his strength left him as he began to lean upon the wall next to the lab entrance. He looked down upon his hands that was grasped by paradise. The fatigue, the hunger the things that plagued him before were no longer present. He felt for sure with her words of encouragement he could take on the universe itself.
With this new found courage he pressed the command to open the doors only to find a room that could only be described as chaotic. Crewmen were in a frenzy, containers of chemicals and other equipment littered the room. Some trying to settle the mess while others began to tend to the wounds of others. The Ensign's smile faulted for only a second before he retained the glow from before. He began to command the chaos into order using the countless simulations from the holo-deck as a ladder to climb over this endeavor and his lucky encounter with Hikari Makoto as the push he needed.
