As far as the federation knows, there is only one of them, there may be a home planet located somewhere in the gamma or delta quadrant, but they haven't found it.
What the Federation officially knows is that the Cai'Nari they found had a much more denser bone structure than humans, making them overall sturdier, this however makes her extremely dangerous, the subject's claws are capable of lethal lacerations if not dulled and have not broken or chipped from the stress we put them under. They also found that The muscles of the Bi-pedal canine species was more compact and denser, or more is less. These two things combined makes for a deadly physical package, albeit a dietary nightmare if it weren't for replicators, it is found however, that the subject only ate one and a half larger meals than the normal crewman. A strange fascination with complicated machinery can be observed, and a faster information gatherer than most when it's on a screen of an LCARS menu instead of in a book. This strange gift also budded with replicators, the subject able to make things to her specifications, even high tech equipment and devices. Odd coloration of the skin underneath the fur may mainly be due to blood color, but the coloration of the nose leads to other suggestions. The eyes of a Cai'Nari suggest mood, though in most cases they remain the same color, but brighter or dimmer, glow cause undetermined as of yet. One of the most important, and of all things un-noticeable, the subject acts in a tribal manner and easily recognizes superiors with respect, this respect may come in various ways and forms, however it does appear that the subject does not like large gatherings. The subject also seems to react specifically to strong emotions in others.
Final testing in the training requested by the subject showed enhanced medical knowledge and ability, while excelling in all physical categories for Marine training. The final test before the subject was allowed to leave was a test of tolerance and temperament. The subject was extremely patient during this time and was highly docile, however, we were able to make the subject's eyes change to yellow, we will not indicate the actions that transpired in this report, but it is clear that she does not tolerate harm to other individuals. On the end note, such high levels of restraint would indicate loss of self control if provoked enough, causing a potentially catastrophic situation.
