Gordon reported to the Major's office, having a feeling that some of his more advanced training may be called on. He waited for the Major to arrive.

Valdora tittled his head in thought for moment before nodding. "Very well. We will set a parallel course from yours." The Romulan nodded with respect and disappeared. Valdora spun his chair back around to face the forward side of the bridge as usual. "Ensign Langley. Tie in to Mandelo's readings and set a parallel course. Stand down to yellow alert but keep those shields up and weapons charged" he said and sat back, hands cupped in thought.

Stepping into the room and seeing his officers and NCOs gathered Shepard nods and says "Alright. I will get right to it. We are diverting to Romulus 2 to pick up the Praetor, i don't know why, but we are. So i want us ready for anything, and i mean anything, breach boarding, beam boarding, rapid extraction, breaching a blockade, etc etc. So first things first, marines with the most shipboard experience are going to secure the airlocks, engineering, bridge, CIC, The computer core, and all other key assets. The rest of us are going to get ready to deploy, either by shuttle, transporter, or hot drop..." He waited amoment as the shock of the fact that they might be hot dropping settled in.
"I know Hot drops are not usual, but we don't have much of an option, we must secure the Praetor and must be ready to use the hot drop option, you all have the training, but i have done a number of live combat hot drops so if this goes down i will be leading it. So i want you all to get your squads ready. Full combat gear, expect advanced well organized and highly trained hostiles. DO NOT assume you have the upper hand, Romulans have had cloaking alot longer then we have and civil wars or not, I'm willing to bet they have personal cloaking. So stay sharp. Now, any questions, ideas etc?".

Lt. Hikari walked out of the conference room and to the turbolift, taking it to the deck that her fairly large office was on. Once Makoto entered she began barking orders and her small team of specialists went into action. A few minutes later one of the specialists looked up at her. "Ma'am, we've managed to tap the Romulan communication frequencies, so far they suspect nothing." "Good, if you hear anything let me know immediately, I don't have a good feeling about this." "Yes ma'am." She leans back into her chair. "Enterprise." the AI appeared on the holo-pad, "Yes Lieutenant?" "Soundproof this room and seal the door. Authorization Hikari Four Seven Theta Tango. Personnel allowed to over-ride the lockout are Captain Lucan Valdora and Commander Michael Logan." "Affirmative."
She leaned back in her chair and began reading intel reports from SFI and contacts in the Romulan empire, trying to get a feel for what they were up against.

"Any chance that we have a way to detect personal cloaks of the Romulan variety?" he said. "If we don't have a way yet, I have a suggestion."

"Hell son, we don't even know if they have any so we don't know how their might work, its a good chance they have them though. But your best bet is to throw in an Ion grenade and then hose the area down in suppressive fire. Entill we know what type of cloak, if any, they have we can't get the grunts hopes up by telling them to use any anti-cloaking tech. Ion grenades knock tech out so their your best bet but other then that you are free to tree whatever you can think of on the field." Shepard replies.
After a moment he adds "But if your idea has nothing to do with fields or such i suppose it couldin't hurt to hear it. Whatcha got Lt.?"

"This is based off of older technology, but it can prove useful. We upload the heat signature that a Romulan usually gives off to our tricorders, factor in equipment and weaponry, and voila, a less attention-gathering way of detecting the operators of the cloak, which can then be dispatched quietly via melee or the position of the heat signature can be relayed to our snipers and they can take them out quietly." he said, before continuing, "And if they're jamming our tricorders, we can always either integrate it into the helmets, or use heat vision scopes."

Shaking his head sadly Shepard replies "Most Cloaks these days don't let you see the heat of whatevers inside them, that was about the first thing they made sure of when designing them or they would be useless in space. But it was a good idea Lt."
After a moment of waiting the Major nods "Alright, go get your squads ready. Dismissed!" He salutes the assembled officers as they salute him and begin to leave for their own preperations.
OOC: I know the heat thing shouldin't work but if it did cloaks would be useless and would never have been a threat. therefor star trek cloaks most be able to block heat. And when you think about it thats rather small on the list of rules that trek tech breaks lol.

OOC: Figures.
IC: The 1st Lt. left without another word, heading back to the Marine Barracks and doing some research of his own while his partner got their gear together.

The Ensign sprang from his nap. The Red Alert siren was crystal clear. He looked out through his view-port in time to see the steady sea of stars. Two of those stars were Romulan Warships.
"Romulans?" The Ensign quickly tidied his uniform and headed straight through his door.
He knew of the History between the Federation and the Romulans, whenever they were involved it was never just a simple hello.
He made quick stride to the turbolift and headed straight to his station in the Science Lab.

Captains Log Supplemental
We are now traveling at standard warp speed toward Romulas with our two escorts. I can't help but get the feeling that there is something we are not being told.
Valdora sat in his commander chair staring blankly out at the stars as they streaked past him. Over the past few hours he had blankly signed reports and nodded to suggestions from all departments. His mind was on his escort and their true purpose. The Empire had to know that the Enterprise was more than capable of making it safely to Romulas alone. It was like they were expecting trouble. At that moment the science console beeped and readings were confirmed. Behind the Enterprise as their escorts three large, powerful vessels decloaked. Reman. As soon as they were visible they opened fire. Ahead of the Enterprise they watched as the warbirds dropped out of warp to engage the Reman ships. "Take us out of warp! All hands to battle stations! Stand by phasers, distrupters and transphasic torpedoes."

As the alert went up the major was in the CIC with two of his officers planing the op. Looking up at the monitors Shepard taps his com badge and says "Alright marines, you heard the call, ddfencive positions! Assault teams continue to prep for the strike, if we get boarded you're on rapid response. Deploy!" Leaving his two officers to cordinate the defence Shepard grabs his APR and jogs towards the bridge, arriving a few moments later he snaps a salute to the captain and says "Major Shepard reporting to assist in the defence of the bridge sir." placeing himself between the main command staff and the doors to the bridge he stands ready to defend the bridge from assault.

As the Enemy ships decloaked, Elizabeth immediatly put the Enterprise into an evasive pattern. She didn't know what the Captain had planned but if she kept the Enterprise moving it wold be a lot easier for all involved, especially with enemy fire aimed at the Enterprise.

"Deploy Armour! Commander take charge of commanding helm in evasive pattens and keep your eye on the sensors. Tactical. Ms Hunter load torpedos and fire a full spread at the incoming vessel. Continue firing at enemies with all weapons as we pass" Valdora rocked froms weapons fire as he gave orders.

She worked over her station, scanning the enemy ships as they took fire. She kept focused on her work as she had done before, she could get through this. "Captain. Those ships aren't Romulan in configuration, readings or design" she spoke up "their Reman."
