Down on the far side of the bridge the ready room doors opened and Valdora emerged, coming up the steps onto the main bridge command deck and turning to Ensign Durn. "Ensign, have all the senior staff report to the Observation Lounge and report there yourself. Those of you here follow me there" the Captain ordered and made his way across the bridge and into the meeting room.

Mandelo nodded and got up from her chair, walking around the desk and behind the others who were already making there way into the lounge. She entered and sat in the third along chair nearest the window, pulling it up to the desk and putting her PADD that contained her reports on it. Now she would find out if the rumours and leaks were true.

Dr Foley lumbers into the meeting room with his normal lolloping stride and sits down among the other officers looking at each of them and nodding to acknowledge each one in turn. He then sits there patiently waiting for the Captain to begin.

He watched as the last of presently assigned staff sat. "I thank you all for being patient and coming on such short notice despite the fact we were not meant to be departing for a further two months. I do apologize if we had cut short your shore leave time but this mission is to vital and the only ship close enough and advantaged enough to take on this mission is The Enterprise" the Captain said and stood. He walked over to the display panel and pressed it. Holographic images came up on the table as a display. At present it has a starfleet logo and the words "standing by." "A week ago the Potemkin picked up large power readings, warp signatures and eventually tachyons from the far side of the badlands near what used to be the DMZ. It reported this back to starfleet and continued on its mission of delivering supplies to Bajor. I did however send a probe to investigate further. This is what it transmitted before it was destroyed...." The video of the cube shaped silhouettes, covered by nebula cloud is shown to the staff. "Starfleet believes that the Borg may be back. If they are right not only does that mean they must of found a way to combat our defenses against them but also that they aren't taking us lightly anymore. If that image is Borg ships then there looks to far more than just one. Our mission to use our new cloak, go to those coordinates and find out if Starfleet is right. And if so how many ships we are dealing with. I will be open to anything you can give me to improve our chances should we have to battle them." He looked around the table and waited for their responses and suggestions.

Jade gulped on seeing the recording and looked up the table at the Captain as he spoke. "Well sensors are almost at 100 percent Captain so we should be able to take the best readings of any ship in the fleet. Honestly though I would like to get my hands on any new tech the have developed so we can "adapt" to them this time" she spoke up eagerly.

"Captain, I have to agree with Lieutenant Mandelo. Anything we can use to get a tactical advantage against the Borg is a plus. What better defense then to be able to adapt to the weapons the Borg have and use it against them."

Jade looked over at the man she had seen being admonished earlier. She now knew his postion but his demenour was different now. He was serious. She gave him a quick clance as he spoke before looking back at the Captain.

Dr Foley , leaned foward on the table and caught the Captains eye. "If I recall Sir during the Enterprises first encounter with the Borg back under the command of Captain Picard , there were heavy casualties and men died when the Borg started taking the ship apart just to examine our technology. In order to ensure a quicker medical response SHOULD we face the same trouble , and I sincerley hope that we don't, I suggest that as many crew members as possible recieve at least some medical training even if it's just basic so we can act quicker in the case of an attack and treat any injured. I have a good crew on board but would welcome any help or support." Finishing his short speech Calvin looks around at the other officers trying to determine their response to his suggestions.

Valdora sat back in his chair and nodded. "I understand Doctor but believe me when I say I don't intend for anyone to end up in your morgue, hopefully not even your sickbay. As for the other suggestion we do have a Marine Squad coming on board any moment. Starfleet have classified this as reconnaissance so I don't think they want us to get involved but personally if we do find what they fear....." He put his head on his fist in thought then straightened "Lieutenant Hunter I want you to work with the new Marine Major and his squad, come up with a plan to board that ship with Lieutenant Mandelo and get whatever information and tech you can. Lieutenant Cambell get this ship ready for launch, focus on the weapons systems and the cloak. Slipstream would be good to get on line too. Ensign Durn contact starfleet and tell them of our plan and then ask for permission to depart. Commander I want you to have this ship and personnel ready to go within the hour and then work with the proposed away team. Doctor I want you to start working on ways to combat nanoprobes and Borg assimilation and get back to me with a report. Dismissed." Valdora sat back in the chair as they all got up and scattered out of the room. "Shuttle bay to Captain" came a crewman's voice. "Valdora here." "The Marine Squad's transport is about to land here." "On my way." With that he stood and headed down to the shuttle bay to meet them.

Shepard looks around at his fellow marines and prepares for his next assignment. The Enterprise, one hell of a ship to serve on. He only hopes he can live up to its past crews legend, and that he can protect its current crew. He stands up as the shuttle lands and says "Alright Marines, move out." The hatch open and he jumps out before the plank hits the deck. Seeing the captain he stands at attention and salutes "Major John Shepard reporting Sir!"

Switching to the at ease position Shepard takes the captains hand and says "Yes sir. It's not going to be easy though. But my Marines can cover your teams while they collect the data they need, right Marines?" He throws the last over his shoulder, to a sycronised "Ooh RA!" He grins as he places his hands behind his back and says "Sir, i think its safe to say that this mission can be done. Given the right weapons i'm confidant we might even be able to pull off a first strike."
