Valdora sat in the darkened room that was what remained of the observation lounge listening to his staff report on current ship activities and repairs. His flesh was almost as white as snow, blue veins bulging and dark rings circled his eyes. But he not sell it, he made sure he remained straight and alert. Only occasionally did he lower he head or close his eyes. To many he simply appeared tired, perhaps ill. He did however find himself drifting as they spoke and had to will himself to listen to their every word. 'It's import damn you. This crew need you!' He turned now and faced another at the table as they spoke.

She had just finished giving a report on what scans revealed about enemy movements and that there appeared to be no hostile ships in the area. Jade sat and looked up at the Captain, he looked tired, but then again so was she. This had been a long couple of weeks. "...Then again" she added "long range sensors have been on and off lately, some of them have even been destroyed. So I just hope our scans are reliable."

The Major stood, listening to the people giving their reports. When it came his turn, he nodded. "Not a whole lot to report, the men and women are a bit edgy, but continued training and battle readiness have done them good. However I am mixing up their routine a bit to keep them interested. I am also going over plans for two types of support craft that were transferred here from the Cai'Nari holding area. They should be suitable to meet our needs." After sitting back down again, he leaned over and whispered to Mandelo, "Is it just me or does something seem off about the Captain?"

"I'll try and see if I can spare some extra power into the sensors." He took his turn to speak after Mandelo. "My team has been trying to get of our subsystems operational. Transporters, Replicators and many other systems are still inoperable." He paused noticing the Captain, "Most of these systems are operational but, with energy reserves low they might as well be destroyed."

"What about Enterprise? She is still online right?" Jade asks.

"She is still operational, she is currently reducing her power usage by deactivating the ships holoemitters and many unneeded computer consoles." He took a second, what he had to say was something he did not want to do. "Currently over 50% of our output is life-support and 35% alone is placed on Enterprise. If we don't find a way to increase power output we may have to... deactivate her." He turned away, as painful it was it was the truth and he despised himself for even saying it.

OOC: If you've played Halo, my first idea is something similar to that.
He looked at her for a moment while she was leaning close to him before whispering back, "Meet me in my office later, and I'll tell you why I think it's more than that." He sat back down in his chair and listened to the Operations officer give his report. An idea came to his mind and he looked over at the man. "Well, if 35% of our power is going to her alone, Is there not a way to download her onto something and place her in a container of some sort? I remember reading over the plans about the Marine armor and it *can* be modified to do that. I'll leave the particulars up to you however if this idea makes it past consideration." The Major sat back down again before adding. "Or, failing that, which decks can we evacuate, which decks will hold said evacuees, and can we cut life-support to those decks once the people are out?"

"Captain I believe this is all pointless" Jo'rek spoke up, now on the senior staff as temporary chief of helm "the correct course of action is obvious. The AI is a luxury we can no longer afford and her shut down will produce power that will help the living men and women on board this ship. That is our priority."

"It is an intelligent being Chief and unless that power is a matter of life or death our duty is to keep her online" Valdora responded sternly and turned to Figueroa "is the Major's plan practical to Enterprise? As I understand it her memory is stored in the memory core of this ship and we have nothing else aboard with that much memory space."

Foley looked slightly rested after a few hours sleep his staff forced him to take after he had pretty much collapsed from exhaustion on the sickbay floor. He still looked tired and dishevelled but had regained some of his firm and harsh composure.
"Captain , I must lean towards agreeing with Chief Jo'rek. Myself more than anyone has seen more death firsthand on this ship since we began our mission and as a Doctor, death is something I HATE seeing. I say we take the AI offline to give the crew members aboard this ship a better chance of living and provide a better quality of life."
He turned to Figs at this point and regarded the Lieutenant with his strange coloured eyes.
"My apologies Lieutenant Figueroa, but please understand I speak from the point of view of Chief Medical Officer."

His heart insulted by the Chief and his eyes, enraged met with the Doctor as he voiced his opinion. As much as he wanted to protect Enterprise, as much as he wanted to attack the two protesters of the AI, he knew the Doctor and the Chief were right. That did not stop the feelings of rage in his heart though. "You are correct Captain. As we stand now it is impossible to remove Enterprise from the computer core. I would be unable to provide an alternative storage supplement due to the amount of memory and power she requires to function but," He looked towards the Major. "Your idea Major did cross my mind as your equipment does have the necessary components, But the modifications and parts we need are not in our inventory and since the replicators are still down there is no way to follow up with that goal." He tried not to eye either the Doctor nor the Chief. His emotions were starting to get to him. He looked up towards the Captain. He voiced his honest position of the situation. "Captain, I will see to it personally that all nonessential systems are deactivated and work with Lt. Cambell to get main power restored to operational standards."

Foley met Figueroa's gaze with an unblinking stare of his own but said nothing. He was still tired and short of temper and he didn't want to lower morale even more by launching into a full scale blow out with a man he knew was a damn good officer.
Yes he would leave it be for now. But if it came to it Foley had no doubt in his mind that he would shut down the AI himself if it meant just saving one life on this ship. He didn't now how to shut the AI down but he would find a way if he had to.

"Do what you can Lieutenant" he nodded to him and then addressed everyone "that will be all dismissed." As the group dispersed he stayed put and placed his head in his hands. He felt like his body was trying to eat itself.

Kerak was walking along the corridor of deck ten. He was seeking a human engineer he had spoken to earlier about the damage to their deck and with his promotion to second in command of the marine unit he had decided to take the task for himself. He turned into the entry to a jefferies tube and looked up. "Crewman Astor?" He called. She shrugged and pressed his com badge. "Enterprise. Confirmed the location of Crewman Astor" he asked. Deck 10. Jefferies tube 14 section 5He shrugged and began to climb the ladder up onto the next level. As he reached it he looked over and was greeted with the sight of the crewman lying still. His eyes got wide as he ran up and turned the crewman's head over to see that the human was dead. Two puncher wounds on his neck and his skin pale. :-*Kerak to Security Chief Hunter. I have found crewman Astor dead. We may have a homicide on our hands.
