"I think we covered it" she replied with a smile.

"Sounds good." he said, smiling back at her. Turning to the holo-pad, he spoke. "Enterprise, run program Gordon-9." "Affirmative." Soon they appeared at the bottom of a grassy hill, with the sun out and a light breeze blowing. He takes her hand, "Let's go." he said, before walking up the hill. "In case you're wondering, it'll be a surprise."

"Ok....." she replied and followed him the hill "I never would have thought this kind of scence would be your program."

"I'm full of surprises." he said simply, leading her through the grove of trees until they came out on the other side, where a small house sat, atop a hill. A waterfall was to their right, with a pool below it and stairs to get down to the pool. a few flowers dotted the grass as they approached the house. "I come here to work on a project, every now and then...and I also come here when I want to think...or work in peace."

"You?" She shook her head "wow you are full of surprises indeed." She moved forward and sat under an oak tree. "Join me."

Gordon nodded and sat down next to her under the oak tree, leaning back against the trunk. He looked over at her after a moment, feeling comfortable with just being near her. He searched his mind for something to say, but nothing really came to mind...well...some things did, but he didn't really want to ruin the moment.

She turned toward him with a warm smile. "Are you...okay?"

He looked over at her and offered a small smile. "I'm alright, I was just considering how perfect this moment is..at least to me."

She lowered her head with a blush and then looked back up at him. "Randall.....I.....I don't want to complicate things."

"I don't see what's so complicated about you and me, sitting under a tree, enjoying the peace and quiet." he said, trying to lighten the mood before his face turned serious.
"Jade, I don't want you to feel like that you *have* to do anything you don't want to do. But here's what I think. As long as we keep our priorities straight, we should be alright. Do our duty when on duty and use our off-duty time to bond, interact, have fun, and so on. But that's just little old me's take on the situation." he offered, giving a silent shrug while leaning back against the tree next to her.

She shakes her her, stands and walks forward, turning back to him as she speaks. "But we both have dangerous jobs. You more than I. I don't think I could live with waiting on the bridge while someone I care for goes into ground battle."

He looked up at her as she spoke, nodding slowly as he stood up and came behind her, placing his hands gently on her shoulders, feeling her tense at that. "As a quick off-topic note, I think you need a massage at some point. You're so tense." he stated...then took his hands away from her shoulders, having an idea. He picks up a small piece of wood and hands it to her. "Break it." At her surprised look, he speaks again, "Go on."
Then after the small piece of wood was broken easily by her, he hands her two slightly bigger sticks of wood, held together. "Now break this."
After several unsuccessful attempts to break the wood, he takes it back from her and tosses it to the side. "Alone, there's no one to listen to you, no one to comfort you the way you need to be. No one that will truly understand you for the way you uniquely are. Good times and bad times will come, but they are all memories to be treasured, how fun the good times were, and how you were able to work together with someone who understands you to stay strong and overcome the bad times of hardship. But together, the potential is there to face whatever danger comes, with head held high, and hand in hand." He finished, this having been a lesson that his father taught him regarding teamwork...Randall just having reworded some of the speech to fit the situation. It felt right...but he just hoped that he had done the right thing and that she wouldn't be angry at him.

"I...am just not sure. I'm sorry. I just don't think I want to get involved with anyone who is a member of the crew" she replied timmidly.

Gordon nodded slowly, he figured she might be unsure about it. But if someone was unsure, they needed someone to support them.. Keeping that in mind, he put his arm around her shoulder as they sat together under the tree. "Do you at least want the massage? I promise I'll be careful." he said with a smile, being slightly hurt inside but noting that he'd probably feel the same in her shoes.

"Don't you think that would just make...thing worse" she replied, looking up into his eyes.
