A few hours had passed since Gordon had last seen Jade, and he made his way to Holodeck 3, dressed in civilian clothes, a denim jacket over a green shirt, along with blue jeans and normal boots. His combadge was on his jacket and his rank pips were displayed on the neck of the shirt. His hair was also combed neatly. Now, he leaned against the wall next to the entrance to holodeck 3, his hands in his pockets and one foot up on the wall while the other was on the floor. He thought about what he had told her before, and did so while waiting.

Jade walked out of the turbolift and down the corridor wearing some tight fitting bottoms and a sleeveless T-Shirt. She made her way with a breath around the corridor to Holodeck 3 and saw Gordon waiting there. "Hey Randall" she smiled as she approached.

"Hey." he said, giving her a once-over before opening the holodeck door for her and going inside after her. "Looking great." he remarked before adding, "Your program first, if you want."

"I think my programs will be better for calming down. No doubt you have some combat program you want to try" she remarks with a smirk.

"Actually, I had something special in mind. Its been a while since I've run it, so I wanted it to be after yours. I'm sure there's a program of yours that will catch my interest, although its pretty caught already." he said, giving her a small smile.

She blushed and turned toward the Panel. "Enterprise run my usual" she ordered. Moments later a purple sanded beach appeared, the green and blue water hitting the shore and the sky that of an angry red. "Welcome to D'kar beach on Alpha Centari" she smiled to him "I spend a lot of time here on vaction with my folks."

He looked around and nodded, "Yeah, I hear it's nice this time of year." he said. Then he looks at her for a moment, "So what did you have in mind?" he said with a twinkle in his eye. "If nothing else, we can always go swimming." he added.

"I though we could just walk and talk for awhile. I want to get to know the man who saved my mothers life" she replied with a smiled ad gestured ahead "shall we."

He nods, "Sure thing." he said, remembering when he had saved her from a borg drone. Gordon smiles at her as they begin walking along the beach. "Well, Where to start...one of the fonder memories from my childhood was going out into the woods with my father and being taught how to live off of the land. We were in a lower-class family so I didn't really get spoiled, I pulled my weight and did what work was necessary after school. And speaking of that, I was also home-schooled until the high school years. It's certainly a great experience to have." He said for a moment, pausing to remember his mother and father, while wondering if they're doing okay.
"I also trained with a rifle from a young age, not an energy one but an old style weapon known as the M14. After a few months, I was able to hit the center of the target 95% of the time. I was also trained in a few styles of martial arts, at the time I knew just enough to defend myself, but later on I'd learn more than that." he added, "Once I got into high school things were okay for the most part." he paused at this point to catch his breath, and to see her reaction.

She watched him as they walked, their boots hitting the sand and nodded in interest. "You certainly do like your target pratice. Have you always been so militant minded?"

He nodded slowly, choosing his words well, "It's not so much about being militant minded as it is being willing to do what it takes to defend yourself and those you love, but hoping you never have to. I've had to." He said, looking at her.

"I see. So you feel coming out here and defending this ship protects the people you love?" She asked and titled her head.

"I go where I'm sent, and I come to appreciate and indeed love some of the people I'm assigned with. I can't do it all, but I can do my part." he said, tilting his own head to mirror hers and then the two got a laugh out of that. But in reality, he's only begun to truly consider love in relation to one person on this assignment... the rest are his comrades in arms.

"I see" she nods "I must say your boys have got us out of many scrapes these past few months. When I heard we were being assigned a marine squad with their own deck and all I wasn't sure it was needed. But after what has happened."

He nodded. "This assignment has turned out to be a lot different than what I thought it'd be. But, it is the flagship after all, always on the front-line. But at any rate, what else would you like to know about me? I'll answer to the best of my ability." he said with a smile.
